I don't know why people are worried about Blair going to Dan because it's ~safe?

Both guys screwed her over in their own way during that episode, albeit Chuck in worse ways, but that had no impact on her decision. She forgave them both and told them both she’s not mad. That was the point. She wants Dan because she wants Dan… nothing either of them did was going to change that. 

It actually eliminated the possibility that Blair wants Dan solely for his good side. Just as he accepted her flaws all season long and loved her anyway, she did the same for him in this episode. It was beautiful in its own way, even if that tape storyline was downright awful ;)
